You might already be aware of some of the positive health benefits of flax and Flax seed oil, such as reducing the risk of some forms of heart disease, and the promotion of things like strong vascular health. But did you know that the properties of flax seed oil (in particular the omega-3 fatty acids) can contribute to your brain's development, and can help the repair damage by promoting neuronal growth?
In some health studies, it has been shown that the omega-3s have membrane-enhancing capabilities in brain cells, and that those who took the dietary supplements were shown to have gained cerebral tissue and a significant increase in grey matter.
Now whether or not this is making people smarter has yet to be shown or proven, but other surveys are showing that parents of children with autism also shown significant improvement when taking flax seed oil and omega-3 fatty acids. They have found that these autistic children showed an increase in overall health, cognition, sleep patterns, social interaction, and eye contact--important factors in determining some of the serious effects of autism.
The most significant benefit of flax seed oil may yet be waiting to be discovered, but people are already praising the present results, as well as the positive impact of flax seed and flax seed oil on other conditions such as acne, arthritis, vericose veins, constipation, as well as serious conditions such as heart disease and lowering cholesterol. Maybe if flax seed oil can improve our brains, it can also make us smart enough to realize what else it can do. |
